What started The Chosen Movement?

IMG_3421.JPG

The Chosen Movement was started by founders John-Joel Ikiebe and Opeyemi Mogaji, because they had noticed that many people (particularly the youth) in the church have become lukewarm due to

the fact that they’ve lost sight of their identities. This fracture, if you will, in today’s youthful population brought this movement to life and we believe that this movement will bring about the revival that is timely needed in this generation.

How did The Chosen Movement start?

The Chosen Movement is a by-product of an event called Chosen that took place at Bethel House Family Mission (BHFM) the church of founders John-Joel and Opeyemi,

on January 6th 2016 and was originally planned to just be a Christian Showcase for young church goers but by the power of God alone was turned into a night of deliverance and victory.

Now the actual name 'Chosen' was taken from the scripture 1 Peter 2:9,

"But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light."

And with this scripture they approached their Pastor at BHFM to have a spiritual covering before embarking on this mission, and the event Chosen was transformed into a movement to enlighten and empower youth all over the UK through Gods word and through the

gifts he has placed into his children as talents.

Why was The Chosen Movement created?

Again we go back to our key scripture of 1 Peter 2:9 and the meaning taken from this was that WE are chosen for Gods glory and we as children of God must bring that glory to the people of the world, The Great Commission.

Linking this to Matthew 5:13-16, which talks about us being the salt and light of the earth and that if we lose our saltiness or hide our light from the world, how then can we be of use for the advancement of Gods kingdom? THIS is the main reason as to why The Chosen Movement was created, because we are currently part of a generation filled with people who do NOT know or realise that they are chosen and

with a purpose that was given to them by God.

Furthermore we who have realised that we are chosen would be bringing a GREAT shame and disarray to the kingdom of God if we do not empower those who are still "lost".
